Hi, my name is Daniel Hockey, I’m a Perth web designer.
Rewind to 1998 and after excelling at art throughout high school I decided to pursue a career in Graphic Design. I attended the Western Australian School of Art Design & Media (WASAD), and after 3 years full time study I earned an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design and Multimedia. I was awarded top student in the field of web design for my graduating year of 2000. They even gave me a fancy trophy to prove it!
I now have over 10 years experience in the Perth web design industry. West Coast Web Design is the culmination of all of those experiences — good and bad. Being around in the early days of the industry, when it was struggling to find it’s feet, allowed me to observe first hand what not to do. I believe those experiences are what will help me most as I strive for success of my own. The key to that success, incidentally, is the success of your business.
Being a sole operator has many advantages, both for myself and for my clients. Everything is done just the way I like it, honestly and efficiently. No “office politics”, no convoluted work practices and most importantly no sales pitches. I’m not a salesman and have no interest in being one. What I lack in “persuasive sales techniques”, I make up for with professionalism, hard work and a genuine desire to make my clients happy. My relationship with my clients is the absolute core of my business and the key to its success.
Your time is too precious to spend it dealing with a web designer who makes you want to take a sledgehammer to your computer — so don’t — deal with me instead. Because my clients are happier.
